How it works

  1. Apply with your MagstoneRN account. Anyone 18 or older can apply, including nursing students, nurses, educators, and creators. We review every application by hand.
  2. Once you're approved, you get a referral link with a code you choose, like https://www.magstonern.com/?ref=YOURCODE. Adding ?ref=YOURCODE to the address of any other MagstoneRN page works the same way.
  3. Share your link. Each time you share it, say clearly that you earn a commission.
  4. Earn $5.00 when a referred student's first payment goes through.
  5. See your link visits, sign-ups, and paid students by month on your affiliate dashboard.
  6. Get paid by PayPal once a month.

When a commission counts

  • Monthly and Annual plans start with a 5-day free trial for first-time subscribers. Starting a trial doesn't count by itself. The commission counts when the first charge after the trial goes through.
  • A Six-Month plan has no trial and counts when its first payment goes through.
  • A Lifetime purchase counts when it's paid.
  • You earn one commission per student, ever.
  • Students who have paid for MagstoneRN before don't count.
  • Referring yourself doesn't count.
  • Commissions count only while your affiliate account is approved.

Which affiliate gets the credit

When someone opens your link, their browser remembers your code for 30 days. If they open another affiliate's link after yours, the last link they opened gets the credit.

If your code is also set up as a MagstoneRN discount code, a student who opens your link gets that discount applied automatically at checkout for the Monthly plan, if they qualify for it.

If we give you a discount code and a student enters it at checkout, the discount code decides the referral, even if the student opened someone else's link. On the Monthly plan, a discount applied from a link leaves no field for entering another code, so the code already applied decides the referral.

Holds and payouts

Each commission is held for 30 days. If the payment is refunded in full or charged back during that time, the commission is canceled. Otherwise it's approved after the hold ends. If a dispute over the payment is still open then, approval waits until the dispute closes.

We pay approved commissions by PayPal, in US dollars, once a month, when your approved balance is at least $10.00. A smaller balance rolls over to the next month.

You're responsible for your own taxes. We may ask you for a tax form, such as IRS Form W-9 or W-8BEN, before a payout.

Rules for sharing your link

Each time you share your link or code, say clearly that you earn a commission, for example:

"I earn a commission if you sign up through my link."

This follows the FTC's Endorsement Guides (opens in a new tab).

Not allowed

  • Hiding the disclosure
  • Paid search ads on MagstoneRN brand terms
  • Spam or unsolicited messages
  • Posting codes on coupon or deal sites
  • Fake reviews
  • Pass-rate, "guaranteed pass", or score claims
  • Saying MagstoneRN is endorsed by or affiliated with NCSBN, a school, or a board of nursing
  • Sharing paid practice questions or screenshots of paid content
  • Offering cash back or other incentives to sign up
  • Self-referral or any other fraud

Breaking these rules can mean losing unpaid commissions and removal from the program. The Affiliate Program Terms have the full agreement.

Can I see who signed up through my link?

No. You see link visits by month and the counts, dates, plans, amounts and statuses of the purchases you referred, never names, emails or account details. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep about affiliates.

I have a large audience. Can I ask about a paid partnership?

Yes. Ask about it in your application. There's an optional note where you can describe your audience.

Can the program change?

Yes. We can change or end the program. Changes apply going forward and are posted on the affiliate terms page. Commissions already approved are still paid.

What happens to my affiliate profile if I delete my account?

Deleting your MagstoneRN account deletes your affiliate profile and code, and your link visit counts. We keep commission and payout records as business and tax records.
